Yes, it must be the Holidays again. Generally
speaking, I'm usually not a fan of the chaos associated with the "happiest
time of year." One thing I do enjoy however is opening holiday cards some
take the time to personalize with a little something to let you know they care.
I don't know why I hold so dear to me when people
stop for a moment and make the effort to think about another person. That to me
is truly special, especially now-a-days where the definition of personal means
a text message. I was told once that if you have someone who has directly or
indirectly impacted your life, tell them why they are special to you.
To me, the Holidays is an opportunity to catch up
with those special to you, whom you normally don't have the opportunity to
interact with throughout the year… and if you have not done so, let them know
why they are special to you. This year, although I'm not around those with whom
I'm normally with, I am however with people who I feel are special to me. Those
who made the conscious and voluntary decision to risk their lives to keep us safe.
Some whom intentionally raised their hands and requested to be put in harms
way, searching for bombs and fighting the enemy so I can sit here in my room
and blog about Xmas (editor's note: this was written 25DEC). Those people I
will always hold dear to me and will always be an inspiration and a motivation
to me as I move forward in my life and in the military "fighting the
fight". My only regret is that I was unable to join them.
Thank you to all back home who has been supporting
me and my family during these difficult times (directly or otherwise.) Your
support will always be hold dear in my heart, and I will forever be in debt to
you.
Take care and I'll see you all soon.
Hey Alex,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to wish you a happy birthday! Hope you're staying safe out there and we hope you'll be back soon. My parents are sending hugs as well.

Hey mon, you've been maintaining radio silence for awhile. Everything copasetic? Sent some Dunkie's K-cups on Valentine's Day (purely coincidental) from the west side of the 4th floor (that's Music & Admin), hope you get them soon (not sure how this APO thing works). Drink 'em if you got 'em.--Barry
